Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable term break! Again, our dedicated teaching team will be organising many different and interesting activities and events which will keep our students keenly engaged in Term 3. Some major events of this term include the Athletics Carnival, Qurban Campaign, Year 12 Gala Night, The Wizard of Oz Musical Theatre Production and the School Music Concert.

Along with these events, I would like to congratulate our girls who participated in the GENIUS Olympiad for their HUGE success in Syracuse New York on the 17th of June 2019. All seven students won awards: TWO SILVER and FIVE BRONZE medals! We are extremely proud of you, well done! I would also like to thank Mr. Jamie for his tireless enthusiasm, dedication and hard work towards this event. We have celebrated our students’ success with a Principal’s lunch and also acknowledged this huge success during whole school assembly.

Athletics Carnival:

Another massive school event finished smoothly and successfully! I just wanted to thank each and every single one of our staff members for the amazing contribution, care and effort. Our special thanks goes to the Health and Physical Education faculty and particularly Ms. Nicole for organising this event very successfully. These kinds of events are really important for bonding and team spirit, not only among students, but also teachers. It was great to see the joy and excitement of our students and staff. I witnessed a wonderful example of great team work.

Qurban Campaign:

Over the past years, Sirius College and the Australian Relief Organisation have successfully worked shoulder to shoulder, organising Qurban projects in a number of African and Asian countries. Teachers, students and parents were enthusiastically taking an active role in it. Students were encouraged to participate in this worthy cause and learned how to put the act of generosity into practice. This was also an opportunity for students to understand and appreciate that there are many people in the world who are less fortunate than themselves, and to learn how to lend a helping hand to those in need. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, especially pastoral care teachers, students and parents for their efforts, kindness and generosity.

Gala Night:

The Year 12 students organised a Gala Night as part of their fundraising campaign for the medical facility refurbishment project in Vietnam. I would like to thank Ms Eda for organising such a wonderful program together with the Year 12 girls. More than $6000 had been raised at the event, which meant our students surpassed their $11 000 target! Indeed, this is a remarkable effort that really needs to be commended. All parents, teachers and students found the whole program very entertaining and well organised. It is vital to create wonderful moments and memories at school that help students develop strong bonds between themselves, teachers and the school. Every student, teacher and parent should be proud of their contribution for such a worthy cause!

The Wizard of Oz Musical Theatre Production and School Music Concert:

Our annual theatre production, The Wizard of Oz, will be held on Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd of August 2019. Our annual School Music Concert will also be held towards the end of this term. There will be a lot of fun for all to enjoy. Tickets are on sale now. I kindly request all our parents, staff and students to attend these events. A lot of preparation, time and effort goes into these performances, especially that of our highly talented students and teachers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Madeleine and Mr. Matthew for organising these special events and preparing our students.

I wish you all a fruitful and successful term.

Regards,
Mr. Ilhan Eroglu
